Laura Kerbey - Founder of PAST

I have been working with children and young people with autism and other special needs for over 15 years.

I started my teaching career in Further Education, and have worked in the Supported Learning Department of 2 large Mainstream Colleges teaching Numeracy, Literacy, Life Skills and Childcare.

The number of students on the Autism Spectrum in mainstream settings is increasing - Are you and your staff able to meet their needs?

PAST can offer high quality accredited training, bespoke INSET courses and CPD on Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated conditions including Pathological Demand Avoidance.

Our accredited training programmes are accredited by the Open College Network (OCN) and are recognised by OFQUAL.

As well as our accredited courses we also offer bespoke training packages - we offer everything from INSET to regular twilight sessions.

All Accredited Training courses are available as Distance Learning options so you can study at your own pace.

PAST can offer a range of training programmes which are designed to help raise awarenes of autism and equip your staff with the tools and strategies they need to remove the barriers to learning that autism can cause.

We also offer training to parents to help parenting a child with an Autism Spectrum Condition a little easier.

PAST training can be offered in house or at our special events which are shown on the "Training Dates" page.  Please contact us to discuss your training needs

I wanted to hand over my compliments and thanks on behalf of all of the team at Acorn Park for the fantastic training you gave us around PDA training, from this training the lives of one of our young people has dramatically improved.
As the staff team now understand the appropriate ways to support our young person, his anxieties have dramatically decreased, and his emotional well being and happiness is now better than ever.
Our young persons bond with adults, and other young people are now flourishing, and his is now able to spend time at home each weekend, which has never been possible in his 7 years residing with us.
Through your training the importance of choices and him being in control have been highly recognized, and our young person now no longer needs the medication he had been on in order to manage his anxieties.

On behalf of the staff, the family and the young person, I would like to whole heartedly thank you for your on going support and guidance,

Thank you,
Nicola Deaton

Dear Laura - Thank you so much for delivering such an informative, enjoyable and at times heartbreaking insight into our children's little worlds! It was a real eye opener for me and I'm so glad to have been able to come. It's made me realise that there is SO much we don't know about how our son gets through each day and to be honest I really empathise with why he has his meltdowns/panic attacks now. I was told before I came to the course that you offered the very best training and the person who told me was absolutely right! Claire - Weybridge.
